My Childhood
My childhood was one of great fun,
My first memory was I giggling,
Family all around just playing,
We always had the best fun.
My childhood was cheerful,
Playing games with Marvin,
Even fighting was interesting,
Growing up was my dream.
My childhood was filled with naive pleasures,
Leaving windows, doors and everything else open,
We played hopscotch well into the night,
We were naïve but happy I know that now.
Now I have grown older,
I have seen the errors of my ways,
Moving away and growing up wasn't so much fun,
I hear no giggling just sighs of frustration.
But back to my childhood days I go,
I will make
Sarcasm biting like,
The nature of a true cynic,
Hate spewing.
People like me are considered truly cynical
As we are so mechanical.
They say I will burn in Hell,
For my 'promiscuous' nature,
For my 'arrogance'
For every sin man committed,
I will be their 'sacrifice'
Once I was pure,
I once had the smile of an angel,
Beckoning, sweet, loving,
I once had the beauty of fairy tale princesses,
My beauty came from within,
From a heart as pure as the
Proverbial lamb. I had hope
Now, I have lost my innocence,
It has been so long I forgot exactly when,
I had ever been an innocent.
My smiles metamorphosed into
Sneers- awful
Once Upon A Time
You once were my friend,
Someone I could call during the night,
When I had a fight,
You made me smile
When I just wanted to take gun,
And do away with myself.
I was the perfect lady- rich and spoilt,
Mom and Dad's greatest treasure
The atheist to you,
But you still were there,
When I needed a shoulder to cry on,
We always wondered what we had in common.
(I still don't know what)
Once I could depend on you,
But I betrayed you,
And you never spoke to me again,
But it was just a whole mistake,
Because of a jealous friend,
It was all a big misunderstanding.
The beauty of the sun,
Is that we never lack light,
The beauty of the stars,
Is that we are always watched over.
The beauty of the world,
Is that we know where we are,
The beauty of the oceans,
Is that they knit us together.
The beauty of the water,
Is that we never thirst,
The beauty of the crops,
Is that we never hunger.
The beauty of clothing,
Is that we never go naked,
And thank God for that blessing.
The beauty of children,
Is that they know innocence,
The beauty of adults,
Is that they have lost innocence but gained wisdom.
The beauty of teaching,
Is that we aid others,
The beauty of learning,
Is that we replace
As I ponder about the sense of crying,
I realized it is just nonsense,
But that nonsense is a healing balm on my tortured soul,
And though I cry and I feel like I will never be happy
Yet the world keeps turning.
The world never stopped,
Even when I was to the point of death,
The world never stopped, not once,
Not once did someone stop the world and ask if I was fine,
People always assumed I was.
Since I was wealthy and with you,
Then I was obviously happy.
The world turns and turns,
But one day the world will stop,
And like a carnival ride everyone will get off,
And I will stay, willing the pain away.
The Truth
The truth was I
Never got over you,
I was never actually over you,
You thrust me into the cold
Snow the cold life
Alone.
You said that I was the
Only one but was that ever true?
I stare at myself everyday
And wonder why you hate me
I started to believe the things
Every hurtful thing you said
Hurtful words
Said in anger, said in spite,
Words so painful
That even death was more appealing
Than they
The truth was
I never stopped believing
In you, in love
I never stopped thinking of you.
